The entire hood system is engineered for functionality with controlled make-up air supplied from behind the rangetop and synchronized with exhaust air pulled by the hood insuring that all cooking smoke and fumes are extracted while maintaining equal inside home air pressurization levels, to prevent air having to be drawn from other sources, such as fireplace openings.

The Stair Tower is constructed of an 8" reinforced concrete center with 8-12" of stone both on the interior and exterior ... a 28"+ structure providing access to all 3 levels of the home. The iron handrails and spindles, formed in the design of mountain laurel, were hand forged and crafted by local blacksmith artist Lynda Metcalfe. The roof support beams of the tower were cut from massive timber beams, reclaimed from a Tobacco Factory in Rockingham, NC, that was over 150 years old when taken down.
